MESSAGE FROM MAYA OHM MAHATMA REGARDING CHAPTER II
Beloved Heart Lights.  Below is the original manuscript.  It is NOT accurate because
it was written back in 1986 before the Harmonic Convergence and my Awakening.

CHAPTER Il

WE WILL WANDER

When the sand castle turns to the sea,
And the gull makes its last flight to thee.
When the time, and the space, and the joys
That we knew  - have all sifted together
And faded from view,
We will wander . . .
We will wander . . ..

There is no home now,
No place to go.
I felt it,
I knew it had to end this way.

There is no home how,
No time for us.

We wander, we reach out . . .
Teach them ALL to see
That the only way
To live again
Is in PEACEFUL HARMONY!

The darkness gave way to the beautiful sights of the galaxy.  How easy it would be for a free spirit to romp in this infinite playground of shimmering lights, fiery comets and exquisite kaleidoscopic patterns of cosmic gases and novas.

Faster and faster the Light Beings moved, traveling out of the Mawuvian Galaxy and into another.

Nirih, a glowing sphere of Blue-White energy, was in the lead.  Lyria, Yanah, Beniria, Pyasia and Stirih Followed him.  They, too, in their higher vibrational forms were bright, pulsating spheres of color, sounds and vibrations.

There was not time for play, now.   There was work to be done.  This much Nirih had already told them.   However, he did not tell them where they were going or what it was they would have to do.  Still, they followed him with complete trust.  He had earned and received their respect on Mawuvia.  And, once again, Nirih would lead them to the complete of their mission.

Yanah was directly behind and to Nirih's right.  He was Nirih's most ardent admirer on Mawuvia . . . aside from Lyria.

If Nirih had crossed over before Mawuvia was destroyed, Yanah would have succeeded him as the new director of Quadrant A.   This was a position he felt unworthy of, but no one dared to challenge Nirih's decisions.

Although Yanah was resigned to his destiny, he secretly hoped that his mentor would "outlast" him so that he could continually reap the benefits of Nirih's limitless knowledge.  And now that they were in the Fifth Dimension he understood completely his Oneness with Nirih and why his energy resonated so much with Nirih's when they were on Mawuvia.

Lyria's love for the Third Dimensional Reality and for Nirih was so strong that her cross over was less pleasant than that of the others.  She knew while existing on Mawuvia that her relationship with Nirih was a very special one.  He gave her strength and knowledge.  He showed her how to utilize her talents for the good of their planet and for her own advancement.

And now it was time for Lyria to embark on her own adventures.  It was her time to teach others . . . to give them her strength and knowledge . . . to show them how to utilize their talents for the good of ALL.   Still, she stayed close to Nirih, not wanting to release their connection until the very last moment.

"We realize that there is much we must do, Nirih," she asked. "But how and where shall we begin?"

"Lyria is right," said Yanah.  "There are so many challenges . . . so many planets and civilizations.   How can we teach them all?"

Nirih's chuckle could be heard throughout the galaxy.  He loved Yanah, but knew that if this special Light Being had his way, he would attempt to solve all of the challenges of the cosmos at the same time.  His heart was in the right place, but his ambitions far exceeded his experience.  As a matter of fact, they even surpassed Nirih's.

"Dear Yanah," have patience.  We will tackle one challenge at a time.  Nothing is impossible when one is in loving service to ALL."

Yanah sighed.  Nirih was right . . . as usual.  He must learn to limit his expectations and direct his energies to  one project at a time while working with the lower vibrational dimensions.  That was what got him into trouble so often on Mawuvia.  He would be working on one experiment, then another task would appear and misdirect his attention.   Consequently, he would be reprimanded for deviating from his original assignment.

Lyria often felt that Nirih was too harsh on Yanah, but understood that he did it out of love and acknowledgement of Yanah's gifts.  Still, she felt it was appropriate to stand up for Yanah in this case.

"Yanah IS right, Nirih.   There are so many Beings and Civilizations in need of our help."

"True . . . true."

"Then, where shall we begin?"

Nirih loved being cryptic . . . almost as much as coming up with a little Cosmic Humor once in a while . . . especially with those working closest with him. It sharpened their senses and "kept them on their toes."

"We shall begin where we are heading," he answered.

Pyasia giggled.  After her "cross-over" and re-awakening to her Oneness with Nirih, she was once again able to appreciate is flair for drama, mystery and humor as well as his wisdom and leadership.   She couldn't help thinking that he would have made a marvelous actor in another Third Dimensional Reality if he had not been so drawn to the scientific and political aspects of those realities.

Nirih chuckled once more.   Pyasia's thoughts were very entertaining.  It would be a wonderful deviation from all of the demands that he usually placed on himself if he could pursue the "arts" as Pyasia's thoughts described.  Perhaps once the Great Earth Experiment was complete.  But for now, there was serious work ahead for all of them.

"As you know, Dear Ones" he said. "We learned much from our existence on Mawuvia.  And since it was destroyed before we were able to complete our mission, our higher dimensional aspects have co-created another planet so that we could continue with the Great Experiment.   Of course, we did make a few changes which have proven to be quite challenging."

"What kind of changes?" asked Stirih.

"Well, we felt that it would be much more interesting if we created some illusions in order to make the planet much more challenging to experience."

"Uh-oh . . . " said Yanah.  "Like what, Nirih?"

Once again Nirih chuckled.   "Well, first of all, we created the illusion of Duality. Now, this is the most challenging of ALL of the illusions.  Once those who volunteered to participate in this new experiment are able to pierce through the illusion of Duality and re-awaken to their Oneness with all, it will be much easier for them to transcend the other illusions we have created."

"Duality?" asked Yanah.   "Are you saying that once the volunteers descend into the Third Dimension on this planet they will completely forget who and what they truly are . . . that they will not realize they are One with All That Is?"

"That's exactly right, Yanah," Nirih replied.  "And, to make things even more interesting, we added some other illusions, such as the illusion of time and space. Now, we had those on Mawuvia, but because we always remember where we came from and who we were, it was easy to transition from one experience to another, so we did not actually experience the illusion of  death."

"Death?" asked Lyria.

"It's difficult to describe, my love.  Its something you have to experience to understand.  While existing in the Third Dimension you are taught that death is the end of life as you know it.   But, its really a transition into a new life."

"Hmmm . . . fascinating" said Stirih.  "So no one who volunteers to participate in the new experiment will know that they are simultaneously co-existing in many dimensions and realities."

"That's true, Stirih.   AND . . . those who learn how to communicate with us who will be working with them from the higher dimensions will not even realize that we are One  . . . and that they are,  in a sense,  actually receiving Guidance and Protections from themselves . . . or, should I say higher aspects of themselves."

"Very interesting," added Lyria.  "That is bound to make the experiment much more challenging . . . and, by being more challenging, it will serve to raise the Vibration of ALL even higher."  She smiled.  "How very, very clever!"

"Yes," said Nirih.   "And to make it even more interesting, it was decided that this would be the only planet in existence that will have free choice.  AND,  it was also decided that as each Light Being strives toward their Ascension Process, we would also allow the planet the choice to Ascend as well. "

"Wow!" said Yanah.   "So this will be the first living planet to move from the Third Dimension into the Fifth Dimension.  And will ALL of the life forms that belong to this planet also ascend?"

"Yes, that is correct," Nirih responded.  "Unfortunately, we have had to intervene a couple of times because the Light Beings painted themselves into a corner with their choices . . . so to speak."

"How is that?" asked Beniria, who had been silent until this time.

"They would progress to a certain point and then many of the inhabitants would become so attached to their possessions  that they became selfish and unbalanced.  Their Dark Side took over and they realized how powerful and enjoyable it was to be in control of others and take away their possessions in order to increase their own riches.

Many somehow embraced the belief that they were superior to others and that the others should be their slaves or should be terminated.

And so, it got to the point where the planet was in danger of being destroyed, like Mawuvia was.  It was during these times that we created some catastrophes which wiped out most of the life forms on the planet.  Those who survived would have to start all over again."

"What a shame," Lyria lamented.  "And yet, but doing this they honored All That Is even more by starting over and meeting new challenges."

"That's true," said Nirih.  "But now the planet is in the process of moving from the Third Dimension into the Fourth and there are still hundreds of thousands on this planet who embrace the Dark Side.  There is such an imbalance right now that it is difficult for those who have chosen to embrace the Light to honor their contracts.  They need our help so they can learn how to transmute the dark energies into Light.  We cannot do this from the Fifth Dimension because we are not allowed to interfere with their Free Choice."

"Aha!" exclaimed Pyasia.  "That's why WE have volunteered to be in service.  We're supposed to descend onto the planet like we did on Mawuvia and assist them as Third Dimensional Light Beings."

Nirih smiled.  "Yes, Pyasia, but it won't be as easy as you think.  Once you incarnate into the Third Dimensional forms you will also be subject to all of the veils of Illusions.  You will have to achieve your spiritual enlightenment just like those on the planet.   And, this could be quite challenging . . . especially for those of you who enjoyed the  Third Dimensional aspects of Mawuvia . "

Everyone was silent for a moment.

"On the plus side," added Nirih.  "There are nearly 1,000 of you who have volunteered for this mission.  And you have contracted to cross paths many times as you strive toward your Spiritual Enlightenment.  You will, without even knowing it, be assisting each other in your Ascension back to the higher dimensions.  And many of you have contracted to work together in groups to assist others in their Ascension process."

"Does that mean that we will be together?" asked Yanah, meaning him, Lyria, Pyasia, Stirih and Beniria.

"Yes," answered Nirih, "for as long as you choose to work and experience this planet together, you WILL be together.  However, I must remind you that this IS a planet of Free Choice.   Some of you may choose to embrace another path . . . to re-write your contracts.   This is as it should be, but do not worry about it now."

Beniria felt a little out of place with this newly organized "team." She could not understand why Nirih asked her to volunteer for this assignment and join the others.  It was an honor to be with them, but she had an unfinished contract that she felt she needed to complete.  It was a contract she made as retribution for the hideous crime she had committed on Mawuvia. Still, she would honor Nirih's request and perhaps there would be an opportunity to honor her incomplete contract at the same times as fulfilling this important mission.

Silently and quickly the entities followed Nirih through the second galaxy and into the third.  As the planet came into sight Lyria became apprehensive.

"It's Earth!" she exclaimed.  "I remember assisting in it creation.  Oh, Nirih . . . its so much larger than Mawuvia was."

"Yes, my love.  And there are thousands and thousands more inhabitants. And they are all at a unique stage of spiritual evolution.  Because of the Free Choice there are as many different belief systems as there are inhabitants. For some, the belief systems that they have chosen have served to slow down their ascension process instead of facilitating it.

"Your mission will not be easy, but there are many of us  in the higher dimensions who have contracted to work with you."

Yanah sighed.  "Well that's a relief."

Lyria laughed.  "Yes, Yanah, but we have to become enlightened enough to be able to communicate with them.   Until then, we're on our own."

Nirih laughed.

"Well, not quite, Beloved.    While we cannot interfere with your free choice, we will always be with you, and whenever you call on "God" or "spirit" to assist you we'll will take that as your choice to allow us to help."

They all paused and turned towards Nirih.  They instinctively knew that it was time to say "goodbye."   They awaited his final instructions.

"You have much to learn on this planet before you begin your ministry, Beloved Ones.  You will go your separate ways and overcome many obstacles in order to become strong enough and wise enough to succeed.  As I have said before, do not be afraid.  We will always be with you, even though you will not be able to realize this for a while.  We will protect you all as much as we can without interfering with your own Divine Plans and your spiritual growth on this planet.

"Do you mean that we will not be together?" asked Pyasia, obviously disappointed at the thought of doing this alone, without her beloved friend, Stirih.

"Not at this time.   Some of you will meet in various realities during the history of this planet, but you will not be aware of any previous existences or your mission until you have achieved that stage of spiritual evolution which will facilitate your awakening.  Know, though, that when you are ALL joined together in the same Earth Reality, and when you are all aware of your origins, that this will be the reality in which you will be honoring your contracts and completing your mission.

"How many Earth lifetimes will it take?" asked Yanah.

"It will take as many as it takes, dear friend.  The decision is yours.  The sooner your learn what you must learn in order to succeed, the sooner you will all be together to complete your mission."

Nirih's light shimmered brightly for a moment, then faded.

"It is time to begin your journey, my friends. May the Forces that Be remain always with you and guide you toward your goal."

"And with you," they each replied,  just a little reluctantly.  They did not want to leave Nirih, but they knew that they had to help the inhabitants of Earth and the Earth itself in its ascension process.

Nirih watched the flaming balls of energy as they broke away and soared toward the Earth's atmosphere.  Each light grew brighter and brighter as the time for a new and challenging adventure drew closer.

Lyria flitted about, surveying the planet.  It was not at all like her beloved Mawuvia, but she did have memories of assisting in its creation and knew that this planet had much beauty and splendor.    She couldn't help thinking that Earth's Mother Planet appeared to be nothing but a bright yellow-white ball of gases which cast only brightness onto its child-planet, while Mawuvia's Mother Planet was a beautiful, radiating glow of red which strengthened their powers and cast a gentle, rose-colored hue throughout their Quadrants.

"Look at that! she exclaimed.  "They have only one moon!"

Yanah laughed.

"Ah, yes . . . but this planet is quite intriguing.  And look at the forests.  Are they not exquisite, Lyria?"

Lyria's form darted quickly to observe Yanah's discovery.

"Oh, yes . . . you are right, Yanah.  It is beautiful!" She became excited as she studied the flowers and the animals.  She recognized many of them and remembered that one of her jobs was to instill in the Earth animals those qualities which they would use to assist the Light Beings in their ascension process.

"It seems quite peaceful here.  It would be n ice to exist in this forest."

"Yes, but I don't think you would be able to assist others if there was no one here to assist, Dear Lyria."

Lyria sighed.

"Still, it would be nice."

Yanah smiled.  there was a certain aura about this aspect known as Lyria that intrigued and endeared him.  He hoped that when he met her in another life he could perhaps fill in for Nirih and become her best friend.

"Yes, Lyria.  It would be nice.  Maybe, someday when we have succeeded with our mission we can go to that forest and enjoy all that it has to offer."

Lyria's energy form pulsated."Oh, I would like that, Yanah."

Pyasia and Stirih had moved ahead, past the forest and over a great expanse of silvery white sand.

"What is that?" she asked.  "It doesn't look like anything I have experienced on Mawuvia."

"That is a 'void,' my love," said Stirih.

"What is a 'void'?"

Lyria, Beniria and Yanah joined Stirih and Pyasia as they studied the desert below them.

"A Void is a lack of everything . . . a lack of waters and greenery.  And the only life forms that exist in a void are those which are planted and nurtured by Spirit."

Lyria pondered Stirih's words.

"Yet, even this void is beautiful, is it not?"

Yes, Lyria.  And so are you.   You are like a butterfly, searching for beauty wherever you go and finding yourself being swept up in the tides of never-ending challenges."

"I like that!" said Lyria.  "I shall be like a butterfly.  I shall be free.  I shall touch the lives of many.  I shall give them my love and receive from them the knowledge of their existence.  Oh, you are so wise, Stirih.  You remind me of Pasca, the owl that Nirih and I befriended in the Great Forest on Mawuvia."

"An owl," thought Stirih.  "I would like to be like an owl and strive towards learning great wisdom.  I shall spread my knowledge throughout the universe."

Pyasia red Stirih's thoughts.

"That is so like you, my love.  I realize, now, how much you were torn between your profession as an artist and your burning desire to be a scientist.  I was selfish before, but now I have learned that you must follow your true destiny.  I promise to stay by your side whenever we ARE together, and I will support you in your quest, whatever it may be at the time.  I know that we will be happy."

Stirih smiled, then turned to Yanah.

"And what of you, my brother? What are your plans for your first journey on this amazing and challenging planet?"

Yanah thought deeply.  He was extremely intelligent and quick to learn under Nirih's tutelage, but his mind seemed to have a tendency to wander.  If this aspect is to survive on earth without Nirih, he must learn how to concentrate on the project at hand and not allow himself to become distracted.  It seemed a difficult task.  He would have to acquire the strength of an eagle to accomplish this feat.

"I shall learn to be strong.   I shall soar like an eagle and use my strength and wisdom to help others . . . and to overcome my own weaknesses, whatever they may be in these Earth realities."

Lyria darted over towards Beniria.  Beniria had been unusually quiet and Lyria knew that she needed to be reminded of Nirih's instructions.

"Beniria, you must remember your promise to Nirih.  Learn to forgive yourself.  We need you.  The millions of inhabitants of this planet need you.  They are your 'children' now.   You must help them.  You must save their lives.  You cannot do so unless you learn to love . . . and, above all else . . . forgive yourself."

Beniria sighed.

"It's not going to be easy, Lyria , but I will not forget.  I will keep my promise to Nirih.  I will help you any way I can."

"The planet grows larger," announced Yanah.  "It is time that we separate and proceed with our plans of development.  The sooner we get started, the sooner we will all be together again."

"You're right, Yanah," said Lyria.  "I guess I'll take that big step now."

"Spirit  be with you, Lyria," said Yanah.

"And with all of you," she replied.

Lyria's form broke away from the others and sped toward the new planet.  Just before touching, there was a blinding light as her form dissipated into thin air and emerged into the embryo of the new life form she had secretly chose to begin her Third Dimensional experiences on Earth.

Stirih turned to Yanah.

"Well, my friend.  I guess it is time."

Yanah nodded.

"You and the others go ahead.  I will follow you in a moment."

Stirih gazed down at the planet to the place where Lyria entered.  Then he turned back to Yanah.

"I understand, my brother.   We will see you soon."

"Yes.  I have a feeling it might be sooner than we think."

Their energy forms radiated as they bid their farewells.

Yanah watched until Stirih, Pyasia and Beniria had successfully entered their new home.  He thought about Lyria and the words of consolation she spoke to him just before Mawuvia was destroyed.  He thought about their last seconds together in the Great Forest as they stayed with Kandel and her baby until the end.

He also remember the words that Nirih spoke to him during  private conversation they shared right after they crossed over .  Nirih's words still echoed in Yanah's ears and his heart.

"Lyria will find in you, my son, all that she desired in me.  You and she will enjoy the human form and the human experience that she always loved on Mawuvia.  I know that she will love you . . . and that you will love her.  Be happy, my son. This is in accordance with your Divine Plan.

"Lyria," Yanah whispered.  "Did Nirih also tell you what he told me?  Ah, well . . . I guess we shall find out in time."

Yanah quickly reinforced the plans he had made for himself for his first Earth Experience, then he began his journey.

For a pleasing indulgence, just before he lowered his vibration and descended into the Third Dimension he altered his energy into the shape of an eagle.  He enjoyed the feeling of the wind whistling through his magnificent feathers as he soared from one mountain top to another.

For one brief and shining moment Yanah thought he saw an owl diving into the field below, shimmering with a rose-colored aura.

"Aha!  I see that Stirih is also indulging in a little 'freedom of flight'," he chuckled to himself.

The lone eagle made a long, steep climb up to the clouds and then dove into the greenery below him.

Just as he angled his lithe body away from a tree and headed for the sky, he saw a beautiful butterfly, shimmering in the sunlight and nestling on a yellow rose.

The great heart within his avian body began to pound.  It was Lyria! Yanah felt a strange fluttering deep within him.   He watched the butterfly for another moment and then he smiled.

"Lyria, my love," he whispered.  "I will se you . . . soon."

He soared to the skies once more, turned 180 degrees and pointed his head toward the ground below.  His aura shone brightly, then exploded just before he touched ground.  The eagle disappeared, and Yanah was incarnated.

* * * * * * * * * *

Yanah experienced many lives before he reached the incarnation that would reunite him with his friends.  Even in those past lives he would dream of soaring through the skies as an eagle.

Many of Yanah's dreams were pleasant, but when he entered his present life, as Sean, his nights were tormented by one dream in particular.  In this dream the full moon fiercely burned its way through the dark shadows of evergreens and cast a silvery glow on the still waters which fingered their way through the forest floor.

"What am I doing?  Why am I here?'

A sudden gust of ice-cold wind slapped at his body and the lonely eagle ruffled his feathers in a desperate attempt to warm himself.

"I know I should be sleeping, but something or someone is keeping me awake.  What is happening?   What has compelled me to come to this place.  Why do I feel I must stay awake . . .?

He was tired and cold, yet something drove him to remain alert.  His sense sharpened as his eyes pierced through the darkness of the night in search of a sign . . . in search of answers to his question.

"Shraaaak . . . Shraaaaaak . . . . "

A dark silhouette slowly glided across the immense full moon, revealing the beauty and splendor of the night owl in flight.

The eagle looked up and watched the owl intently.  There was something familiar about it . . . but it was too far away to really see.  The eagle's heart beat faster as the flight patterns of the owl touched his memory banks.

"Stirih?  Stirih?   Is that you, my old friend?  Oh, if it were only you.  I could use your help right now.  Spirit has commanded my appearance here this evening . . . and I don't know why.  I could certain use your  comradeship."

"Shraaaak . . . . Shraaak . . . . " the sounds of the owl grew closer.

"When the sun is shining and the country is afire with its glow, I am at my best, dearest Stirih . . . There is nothing I cannot do.  But, alas, I am out of my element when it is dark . . . I feel as helpless as a field mouse on the run and with no place to hid."

The great night owl seemed to hear the eagle's thoughts.  He spread his wings and swooped down from the sky to the tree where the eagle was perched.  His eyes reflected the yellow glow of the moon as he winked at the eagle.

Then he gracefully dove towards a log which was laying in the middle of a clearing.

The eagle stayed where he was.

"It is you!  It is Stirih!"

The owl cocked his head and stared up at the eagle.

The night became suddenly calm and the eagle could barely hear the dying wind as it softly whistled through the trees.   He heart pounded so thunderously that he feared it might burst.

"Oh my . . . Oh, my.  I know I am strong . . . Yet, I am afraid . . . not for my safety . . . no, that's not it.   I am afraid of the unknown forces that have caused me to be here.  Haven't I done enough?  Isn't it time for me to enjoy the beauties and the pleasures of this life?  Must I always be the one to lead others away from harm and into the glory of a better life?"

"Whoooooooo . . . Whooooooo?"

"Who?  Blast you, Stirih!  You know damn well 'who' I am.  It is I, Yanah.  You are very clever, my friend.  I wonder if it's possible that you are the one responsible for my presence here this evening.  If so, tell me now . . . Then, let me rest in peace for a while.  I am very tired.  I am not as young as you are . . . if you will kindly recall."

The owl's eyes glimmered with delight.

"Oh, Yanah," he thought.  "You are so special.  You dedicate your strength and knowledge to help others, but you sacrifice too much.  You are right. You are not as young as I.   Your heart grows heave as you spread your compassion.  If you are not careful it WILL explode from the pressure.  I have learned to shut out some of the cries for help.  I know I cannot help them all. But you, my friend . . . your dedication has blinded you.  You still want to help them all. You can't find it within that great heart of yours to turn any of them away."

The owl watched as the eagle continued to shiver in the cold, his heart going out to his dearest friend and ally.

"You complain that you would like to be able to rest" he chuckled to himself. "But you would not rest even if given the opportunity.  Yes, my friend, I have arranged this meeting tonight.  I have spoken with Nirih and he has agreed with me that you need help.  He, too, realizes that you will always dedicate your existence to being in loving service.  It is time that we join forces and give you the support you so rightly deserve."

"Screeeeeech . . . Screeeeeeech........."

The owl continued to call to the eagle and stare at him, hoping that he would take the hint and fly down to the clearing, but the eagle would not budge.  He stood his ground . . . watching . . . waiting.   He would not be intimidated.  He would wait until the time was right . . . until his friend gave him the assurance that it was safe to descend in the darkness.

Finally, the owl flapped his enormous wings furiously and took off, heading straight for the eagle.  He stopped just inches away from the branch of the ageless redwood tree where the eagle was perched and hovered.  His eyes seemed to pierce right through the eagle.

Then, in exasperation, he spoke.

"Well . . . are you with me or not?"

The eagle stiffened, indignantly.

"Don't be ridiculous, Stirih.  I am always with you.  Uh, by the way . . .
why are we here?"

"We are here because Nirih feels that you are working too hard and that you need some help.  He has asked that we meet him here this evening.

The eagle sighed with relief.   He could handle a lecture from Nirih, but he definitely wasn't prepared to follow Nirih on another mission at this time.

"I'm so glad that's all it is.  I was very worried."

Stirih chuckled.

"You worry too much, my friend.  That's half the reason why you are so tired.  And now, if you will kindly spread those broad wings of yours and follow me . . . I have something to show you."

Yanah flew in formation behind and to the right of Stirih.  He prided himself on being able to perform intricate maneuvers in the sky with ultimate grace and speed.  He had practice for hours on end perfecting his unique style.

Stirih, too, enjoyed the art of flight . . . especially when he was with Yanah.  Together, the circles the clearing where Stirih had previously landed.  Yanah deftly followed Stirih as he spiraled down to with a foot of the log, then expertly pulled up and away.  he began to circle above Stirih's head.

"What are you doing, Yanah?"

"I have seen it, Stirih.   I have seen this log in the clearing.  This is all I have seen.  Are you playing games with me, old friend?  My eyes are not as keen as yours anymore.   Where is Nirih?  I do not sense his energy.  And, just what is it that you are trying to show me?"

"Nirih will be here soon," said Stirih as he flew up to Yanah.

"I am not playing games with you, my brother.  Look again . . . only, this time do it alone.  I will wait here for your return.  Then you can tell me what you see."

Yanah shook his head in exasperation.

"Oh, all right."

He looked to his right, then to the left.

He took a deep breath and dove towards the log, tucking his talons tightly against his lithe body and accelerating as much as he dared.

The full moon was extremely bright but Yanah was unaccustomed to flying at night and he was not familiar with this forest.  His speed had to be set according to his own safety factors.

He buzzed the clearing once, then made a 180-degree turn and glided to within a yard of the designated area, scanning every inch of the ground.

"I just don't see what Stirih is talking about.  There's nothing here."

Just then, a shiny object caught the reflection of the moon and commanded Yanah's attention.

"Wait a minute . . . what was that?  That must be what Stirih was talking about.  There's nothing else around that seems out of the ordinary."

Yanah circled back to get a better look at the object.  When he was within a few feet of it there was a sudden, deafening explosion and the forest was ablaze with fiery colors of red and orange and yellow.
